Rebus Farms was founded in 2008 by Erin Sarofsky, Ian Prior and Dan Bryant. Our mission is to bring high-end design and concepting to many disciplines, including advertising, entertainment and broadcast television.

GARDASIL
Working with DDB New York and their client Merck Pharmaceutical, we were faced with the interesting challenge of how to communicate the facts about HPV, which will affect 4 out of 5 women, and 1 out of 2 men, and do it in a non-hysterical, visually appealing manner. The spots are simple, and are designed to build awareness about this little known virus.
ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
We've just finished a nice spot for Rotary International, working with agency Schafer, Condon, Carter in Chicago. What we learned about Rotary is that it is the world's first service club organization. It has more than 1.2 million members worldwide who volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto: Service Above Self. Pretty cool! All the design and animation was done by Rebus Farms and created in 3D...
MOTIONOGRAPHER POST
As we launch Rebus Farms and get the whole thing going, it's nice to get noticed, and especially nice to be noticed by the fine folks at Motionographer, the ne plus ultra of news sites for our industry. So, thank you, Motionographer!
TIDE TOTALCARE COMMERCIAL
We collaborated with Burrell Advertising in Chicago on a very nice Tide commercial, to which we contributed the design and animation for the live action backgrounds, titles, CG bottle, and animated end logo. Check it out, and man we have really fallen for that orange bottle. It makes us happy to look at it!
TWENTY/120 FILM
We are honored to be included in a film series that premiered at the Promax/BDA convention in New York this year. 20 directors/entities were selected to create a 120 second film addressing the theme “Truth vs. Deception”. After the premier screening, there was another party and screening in Los Angeles. We left the farm and attended the LA screening, at which we nervously anticipated the screening of our film. Like Mikey in the Life Cereal commercial, we were relieved to find out that “They liked it! They liked it!”.
You can find out more about the 20/120 film series and view all the films at twenty120.com.
GENERAL MOTORS 72 HOUR SALE
We are pleased and excited to have just completed our second collaboration with McCann Erickson, Detroit, on another round of GM commercials. For those who ruminate on whether or not there is a measurable connection between advertising and sales results (c’mon, we know you think about it!), you might want to check the Advertising Age article attributing the surge in GM sales directly to the television commercials. We were very happy to contribute our best aesthetic chops to this campaign, and not only that, the McCann folks are a blast!
REBUS FARM LAUNCHES
Dan Bryant, Ian Prior, and Erin Sarofsky partner together to launch Rebus Farms, a design and concept driven production company. What is a rebus? It is a puzzle in which words are represented by combinations of pictures and individual letters. What is a farm? It is an establishment at which something is produced or processed. So, put the two together, and there you go, the genesis of our beloved company name.
Dan Bryant, Executive Producer, is an industry veteran with experience producing in all areas of our esteemed industry. He started out as an editor, but eventually transitioned to producing when he discovered that editors aren’t allowed out of their room.
Ian Prior, Managing Partner and Co-Creative Director, has been an award winning Creative Director at some of the best advertising agencies in the business. He brings his expertise, perspective and alacrity to each and every Rebus project. Also, he is British and likes beer, which makes him fit in very well down on the farm.
Erin Sarofsky, Creative Director, is a creative savant not too far past her wonder years, but she has already output a tremendous amount of high quality, high profile work which has received much recognition and many awards. Prior to starting Rebus Farms, Erin was a Creative Director at two of the most well know digital studios in our industry. She also has boundless energy and enthusiasm for what she does, which is just, well, it’s just great that she is like that.
Having been on many real farms, we have noticed there is an abundance of animal excrement at these places, sometimes referred to as bullshit. We try to minimize the presence of such on our farm, but when it is there, we prefer to refer to it as fertilizer for the creative process.
Welcome to Rebus Farms!
